Salmon fillet glazed with honey and orange for a sweet, citrusy dinner recipe

Orange Honey Glazed Salmon

An elegant dinner featuring our Orange Blossom Honey that caramelizes beautifully on fresh salmon.

Cooking Time: 25 min | Servings: 2-3 | Difficulty: Medium

Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp Orange Blossom Honey
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos (a gluten-free, lower sodium alternative to soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely grated
  • Pinch of salt + cracked pepper
  • Optional but excellent:
    • ¼–½ tsp fresh grated ginger
    • A pinch of red pepper flakes

Method:

  1. Make the glaze whisking together Orange Blossom Honey, coconut aminos,  orange juice, orange zest, garlic (and optional ginger/chili).
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry as moisture interferes with sear.
  3. Lightly salt and pepper.
  4. Sear salmon fillets (this locks in texture)
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-high and add olive oil.
  6. Place salmon skin-side down and sear 2–3 minutes.
  7. Flip and sear the other side 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. Lower heat to medium-low and pour the glaze around (not on top initially) and let it bubble.
  9. Tilt the pan and spoon glaze over the salmon repeatedly for 2–3 minutes.
  10. Reduce until it becomes thick, sticky, and glossy.
  11. Rest 2 minutes before serving to allow the glaze to set.

Method:

  • Orange blossom honey has floral, bright notes that sharpen the glaze instead of making it cloying.
  • Zest amplifies citrus intensity far more than juice alone.
  • Searing before glazing gives you caramelization without burning the sugars.
  • The glaze reduces into a lacquered finish.
